I contacted Lenovo who expressed no interest in repairing it. I was certainly willing to pay too. From what I read Lenovo will not even repair the hinges for laptops that are still in warranty. Lenovo consider any hinge issues not their fault regardless. I have found a couple of local shops that may be able to repair it.The problem with the 7i hinges is that they GLUED them in place and the glue joint breaks under the stress of opening and closing the lid. They repair it by gluing it in again and so the problem isn't really fixed properly and the breakage can occur again. This was my first Lenovo purchase and I spent close to $2K on the laptop.
