The Prodigy is a good thing in that it puts needed pressure on the market. Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". No free lunch and Staccato is still the baseline for a double stack that honest to goodness works from the start.

Prodigys in my area have been going for 1350, which is at least 8-900 cheaper than the cheapest staccato. My suggestion is if you won't die from spending the extra $, then save up for a staccato.
