I bought a 654 NH baler last year replaced the sledges and slip clutches hoping it would be a decent baler for awhile and it seemed to baled pretty good but now most of the time the string will not start going on the bale unless I get off and pull the end of the string out farther. It is possible when continuing to feed hay after the auto wrap trips for the twine to be pushed over the knife cross rod instead of going to the bottom of the bale. The twine can still start, but won’t cut. You need a new gauge. be sure when you get the gauge to also get the large washer to fit over the gauge. The new gauge is smaller.
