Browning a5 problems.

A-5's have a latch on the left side of receiver that flips to the rear to lock bolt in place. flips forward to release bolt. You use your thumb to flip it. Try that. Is there some way to fix this on my own. Install a shorter spacer, or follower,etc. Three of the 3" shells work fine as the over all length is shorter than 4 of the 2 3/4" shell.

This is a new design got it from Mid West Gun works the part # B1182200A7 and it's cheaper than original. Gun works now no problems. The original bolt extractor has been discontinued. This got me to thinking about the Browning A5 's and Remington Model 11's I have looked at in the past and have noticed that more of the A5's are cracked than the Model 11's. His gun is sort of unique in that it’s got Speed Load but uses the old Carrier Spring. That only occurred 1953-57.
