Some folks said the only way to permanently turn it off is at the dealer. That could be, but here's what I did. Ok- RAB was always more annoying than helpful since I got my 2018 XT. Subaru Mechanic: RAB stands for reverse automatic braking. You need a dealer or equivalent scan tool to check to see what codes you have that are causing the dash light to turn on. Since the light is on you will surely have a code. Once you have the code you can then diagnose the problem. The RAB is detecting the rack and automatically hitting the brakes. The research I've done says the only way to deal with this "safety and convenience" feature is to hold down the RAB button on the screen for 5 second *every time I want to reverse*.
