I think maybe there was no device set for combat audio by the game and force switching it to something else, then back to the same device updated it on the game end. Windows > Sound > App Volume and device preferences > Find FFXIV and change the Output (top entry) from whatever it is set to to anything else, then back to what the correct device is.However I recently got a new PC and installed FFXIV.
