This Nijiya Market is a bigger, better, and carries more items than the Ala Moana location! This Nijiya appears to be very small if you just look at it from the outside along University Ave. But I know it's big inside because the spot used to be Jelly's oh so many years ago. Nijiya has 1-hour free validated parking with purchase.One of the great things about living in a college town is the opportunity to eat at a restaurant like this. Nacogdoches can support a true sushi restaurant, while nearby towns seem to have the off-brand of Nijiya. Literally everything on the menu is surprisingly good. Having visited Nijiya, Marukai and Mitsuwa all in the same day, I can safely say that Nijiya is by far my favorite for the Japanese prepared foods in the Kearney-Mesa area. Their rice and sushi is much better than the other two markets nearby. However, I think Marukai might actually have better prices on my staples, like veggies, natto and senbei.
